James Eugene Cartwright, II, commonly known as Jim, is the son and heir of Thaddeus Cartwright. He is the current commander of Cartwright's Cavaliers human mercenary company.

Like his father before him, he loves Coca-Cola and has an interest in 20th-century toys, especially My Little Ponies plush toys. His favorite is Rainbow Dash, a stuffed Pegasus. He also has a Fluttershy and an Applejack. While Jim is very smart, especially when working with computers and the aethernet, his physicality is certainly not his strong suit. He has struggled with his weight since he was a child.

When the story begins, Jim is only seventeen years old and just graduating from high school after completing his VOWs.
